The Pokémon Company has issued a heartfelt thank you to Pokémon TCG fans for their patience amidst the ongoing shortages of the highly anticipated Scarlet and Violet — Prismatic Evolutions set. This is the first time the company has publicly addressed the supply issues surrounding this upcoming expansion.
Announced in early November 2024, Prismatic Evolutions was set to kick off the new year with a bang on January 17, 2025. However, the excitement quickly turned to frustration as fans worldwide, including those in the United States, faced significant challenges in securing the new cards due to widespread shortages.
Responding to weeks of fan outcry on social media, The Pokémon Company released a statement acknowledging the difficulties in obtaining the new set. "We understand this inconvenience can be disappointing for fans, and we are actively working to print more of the impacted Pokémon TCG products as quickly as possible and at maximum capacity to address this," a spokesperson told IGN.
Pokémon TCG Prismatic Evolutions Reprints Are Coming Soon
The good news is that reprints of the Prismatic Evolutions products are already in production and are slated to reach licensed distributors across the country soon. While no specific timeline was provided, this move aims to alleviate the current supply constraints. Despite speculations of scalping contributing to the shortages, The Pokémon Company attributes the issue to "high demand" without further elaboration.
More Pokémon TCG Prismatic Evolutions Products Are Also on the Horizon
In addition to the reprints, fans can look forward to an array of new Prismatic Evolutions products hitting the market in the coming months. As part of the original announcement in November 2024, several exciting releases are planned. These include:
- A new Mini Tin and Surprise Box, debuting on February 7, 2025.
- A Prismatic Evolutions Booster Bundle and Accessory Pouch Special Collection, scheduled for March 7 and April 25, 2025, respectively.
- The Prismatic Evolutions Super-Premium Collection, arriving on May 16, 2025.
- A Premium Figure Collection, set for release on September 26, 2025.
For those eager to test out the new cards, the Pokémon TCG Live mobile game will start awarding Prismatic Evolutions cards through its Battle Pass beginning January 16, 2025.
