Pokémon Go Is Celebrating New Year’s 2025 with Festive Fireworks and More!

Pokémon Go rings in 2025 with a New Year's event! Niantic kicks off the new year with festivities, followed by the Fidough Fetch event and the highly anticipated Sprigatito Community Day.

Leading the celebrations is the Eggs-pedition Access, a January offering within the Dual Destiny season. Running from January 1st to 31st, this $4.99 in-app purchase unlocks numerous benefits to enhance your Pokémon journey. This includes a significant upgrade to the Gift system, allowing you to hold up to 40 Gifts, open 50 daily, and collect 150 from Photo Discs.

Check out the event trailer below!

What's in Store for the Pokémon Go New Year's 2025 Event?

The New Year's 2025 event runs from December 30th, 2024, at 10:00 am to January 1st, 2025, at 8:00 pm. While lacking new Pokémon, Shiny variants, or costumes, the event still offers enjoyable features.

Expect increased wild spawns of Jigglypuff (with a ribbon), Hoothoot (in a New Year's outfit), and Wurmple (in a party hat), all with boosted Shiny rates. Event bonuses include 2,025 XP for Excellent Throws and festive fireworks.

Raids feature a snowflake-hatted Pikachu (Tier One), and party-hat-wearing Raticate and Wobbuffet (Tier Three), also with increased Shiny chances. Themed Pokémon encounters are also available through Field Research tasks and PokéStop Showcases.

Download Pokémon Go from the Google Play Store and join the New Year's 2025 celebration! Afterwards, check out our coverage of Night Crimson, Sword of Convallaria's latest update featuring SP Characters.
