What Recursive Destruction Is in Marvel Rivals & How To Trigger It in Empire of Eternal Night: Midtown

by Christian Feb 02,2025

Marvel Rivals Season 1 unleashes new characters, maps, and game modes, including a fresh set of challenges rewarding players with freebies like a Thor skin. This guide focuses on triggering Recursive Destruction in the Empire of Eternal Night: Midtown map.

What is Recursive Destruction?

The "Blood Moon Over the Big Apple" challenge introduces Recursive Destruction. This occurs when destroying a Dracula-influenced object, causing it to reappear in its original state. Not all objects qualify; identifying the correct targets is key.

Locating Destructible Objects

Utilize Chrono Vision (keyboard "B" or console right D-pad button) to highlight destructible objects. Only red-highlighted objects trigger Recursive Destruction.

Triggering Recursive Destruction in Midtown

This challenge requires playing Quick Match (Midtown). Initially, no red-highlighted objects appear. Wait for the first checkpoint; two buildings will then become available for Recursive Destruction.

During the match, target these buildings. The reappearance might be missed in the heat of battle, but multiple hits should complete the challenge. If unsuccessful, replay the match. After completing this, focus on subsequent challenges featuring Mister Fantastic and Invisible Woman.

Marvel Rivals is available on PS5, PC, and Xbox Series X|S.
