Marvel Rivals Unveils Season 1's Sanctum Sanctorum Map: A First Look

Season 1 of Marvel Rivals, "Eternal Night Falls," launching January 10th at 1 AM PST, introduces a thrilling new map: the Sanctum Sanctorum. This iconic location will host the new Doom Match mode, a chaotic free-for-all battle royale for 8-12 players where the top half emerge victorious.

This isn't the only new addition. Season 1 also brings Midtown and Central Park to the game. Midtown will feature a new convoy mission, while Central Park's details remain under wraps, slated for a mid-season update.

The Sanctum Sanctorum itself is a visual feast, blending opulent decor with surreal elements. The released video showcases a bizarre kitchen with floating pots and pans and a surprising cephalopod emerging from the refrigerator. Winding staircases, levitating bookshelves, and mystical artifacts complete the scene, all overseen by a cheerful portrait of Doctor Strange himself. A surprising cameo by Wong, a fan-favorite character previously absent from the game, adds to the excitement. Even Doctor Strange's spectral canine companion, Bats, makes an appearance.

The season's narrative centers around Dracula, the main antagonist, pitted against the Fantastic Four. Mister Fantastic and Invisible Woman debut with Season 1, while the Human Torch and The Thing join the fray in the mid-season update. The meticulous detail in the Sanctum Sanctorum map, despite the impending battle, is a testament to the developers' dedication. With Dracula's machinations threatening Doctor Strange, the Fantastic Four must rise to defend New York City. The future of Marvel Rivals looks incredibly bright.
