How to Skip Cutscenes in Monster Hunter Wilds

Want to skip the cutscenes in Monster Hunter Rise? While Rise's story features surprisingly well-developed characters and a compelling narrative, some hunters just want to get straight to the action. If that's you, here's how to bypass those cinematic interludes.

Skipping Cutscenes in Monster Hunter Rise

If those cutscenes are dragging on, simply hold down the Y key on your keyboard, or the back button on your controller. Hold it for about a second. If you're using a less common control scheme, briefly press a few buttons during a cutscene; a prompt in the top-right corner will indicate the correct button to hold for skipping.

You can also pause cutscenes if you want to ensure you don't miss anything important. While previous Monster Hunter games often featured less crucial cutscenes, Rise's cinematics are largely story-relevant. We only recommend skipping them on subsequent playthroughs.

Rewatching Cutscenes

Alternatively, you can rewatch any cutscene you've already seen via the in-game menu. This allows you to revisit memorable moments, perhaps to grab screenshots of your favorite monster's dramatic entrance. While this might disrupt the narrative flow slightly, some of the monster introductions are truly spectacular.
