TennoCon 2024, the annual celebration hosted by Digital Extremes, was a thrilling event for Warframe enthusiasts, packed with exciting announcements and previews of what's to come. Among the highlights was the reveal of Warframe: 1999, an upcoming narrative expansion set to launch in Winter 2024 across all current platforms. This expansion transports players to an alternate, gritty Earth in the year 1999, where they'll join forces with six iconic Protoframes to chase down Dr. Entrati before the New Year's Eve deadline.
But the excitement doesn't stop there. Warframe fans won't have to wait until winter to dive into the action. Starting this August, the 1999 Prologue Quest titled 'The Lotus Eaters' will be available on all platforms, alongside the introduction of Sevagoth Prime, featuring exclusive weapons and accessories.
In addition to Warframe: 1999, TennoCon 2024 introduced several other exciting developments. Meet Cyte-09, the new Warframe who was once a fortune hunter and now serves as the sharpest marksman on Arthur's team. Sporting a stylish beret, Cyte-09 brings skills from 1999 into the present Origin System, showcasing the prowess of a seasoned sharpshooter.
Another highlight was the announcement of the Infested 90’s Boy Band Hunts, featuring Infested Liches styled after the 90’s boy band On-lyne. Adding to the fun, Nick Apostolides from Resident Evil 4 made a special appearance. The event also unveiled new mounts, including the Atomicyle—a versatile ride capable of drifting, bullet-jumping, and even causing explosions.
Moreover, TennoCon 2024 revealed that a Warframe: 1999 Anime Short is set to release in 2024, with animation studio THE LINE collaborating with Digital Extremes to bring the universe of Warframe: 1999 to life in anime form. For more details, be sure to visit the official website.
