EA Sports UFC 5 Receives January 9th Update: New Fighter and Bug Fixes
EA Vancouver has dropped Patch 1.18 for EA Sports UFC 5, launching January 9th at 1 PM ET on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S. This update introduces undefeated Light Heavyweight Azamat Murzakanov, boasting impressive stats (97 Power Punch, 95 Accuracy, 94 Ground Striking). The patch also includes three unannounced alter egos and several bug fixes.
Despite ongoing speculation about a new UFC game, EA Vancouver continues to support UFC 5. The game's initial October 2023 release faced criticism for its roster. However, consistent updates have improved roster parity with current UFC rankings, now reaching 98% for the top ten.
This update addresses player feedback, reducing the stamina cost of the muscle modifier from 3.125x to 2.5x. Bug fixes include correcting language translation errors and resolving a Ranked Championship Stand and Bang issue concerning match result display. Additionally, UFC 309 Stipe and Jones portraits have been updated to reflect their glove changes.
Other additions in Patch 1.18 include:
- New vanity rewards.
- An improved "More Offers" store sorting system allowing filtering by release series (Pride, Prime, Champion, etc.).
Furthermore, EA Sports UFC 5 will join the Xbox Game Pass Ultimate tier (via EA Play) on January 14th, alongside other titles.
