In the chilling world of *Phasmophobia*, tracking and identifying the most dangerous ghosts often requires the use of items like Cursed Possessions, which can be as perilous as the spirits themselves. The Voodoo Doll stands out as one such item, and here's a comprehensive guide on how to obtain and utilize it effectively.

The primary function of the Voodoo Doll is to compel the ghost to perform evidence-related actions. This is achieved by inserting pins into the doll, one at a time. This method is particularly useful when dealing with elusive or silent ghosts, as it can provoke them to produce evidence like EMF5 readings or Ultraviolet fingerprints.

You can insert up to 10 pins into the doll to trigger these actions, but it's crucial to be aware of the risks. Each pin inserted depletes 5% of your sanity, meaning that using all 10 pins can drain up to 50% of your sanity, significantly increasing the likelihood of ghost hunts.

The most significant risk comes from the pin located in the doll's heart. The placement of pins is random, and if you inadvertently insert the heart pin, your sanity will drop by an additional 10%, and a Cursed Hunt will be immediately triggered. During a Cursed Hunt, the ghost will spawn near you and pursue you for an extended duration—20 seconds longer than a typical hunt.

Despite these risks, the Voodoo Doll's ability to gather crucial evidence can be a game-changer if used strategically and with adequate preparation.

What Are Cursed Objects (Possessions) in Phasmophobia?

Cursed Possessions in PhasmophobiaScreenshot by The Escapist Cursed Possessions, commonly referred to as "Cursed Objects," are unique items in Phasmophobia that can spawn randomly across any map, depending on the difficulty settings or if you're playing in Challenge Mode.

Unlike standard equipment, which is used to safely locate ghosts and gather evidence of their activities, Cursed Objects offer shortcuts or cheats to manipulate the ghost's behavior, albeit at a higher risk to your character.

The safety of using these objects varies based on their specific abilities, and it's up to you and your team to decide whether to employ them. There's no penalty for choosing not to use them, and only one Cursed Possession will spawn per contract, unless modified in Custom settings.

The game features seven different Cursed Objects, including:

  • Haunted Mirror
  • Voodoo Doll
  • Music Box
  • Tarot Cards
  • Ouija Board
  • Monkey Paw
  • Summoning Circle

This guide has detailed how to effectively use the Voodoo Doll in Phasmophobia. For more insights and the latest updates, make sure to visit The Escapist, where you can find guides on all achievements and trophies in Phasmophobia and learn how to unlock them.
