The highly anticipated public test server for Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2 is now live, giving PC players their first look at Update 7.0. Developer Saber Interactive and publisher Focus Entertainment have released preliminary patch notes, though they caution these may change before the final release.
Major Additions Coming to Space Marine 2
Update 7.0 introduces significant new content including Exfiltration, a challenging PvE mission, and the Inferno Pistol secondary weapon available for Vanguard, Sniper, and Heavy classes. The update also brings long-requested features like private PvP lobbies and prestige ranks for PvE progression.
Enhanced Customization Options
Players can expect fresh customization items including new faction colors like Volupus Pink and Thousand Sons Blue. Additional personalization options now allow for Bulwark cloth and hands recoloring, while PvP players will enjoy 50% increased customization rewards.
Combat and Weapon Overhaul
The update dramatically expands weapon options across all classes in PvE. Notable changes include the Assault class finally gaining access to the Power Sword without mods, plus extensive rebalancing of existing weapons. A key quality-of-life improvement prevents griefing in Inferno Operations by teleporting stragglers to the assembly area.
Weapon Perk Revamp
Nearly every weapon class sees perk adjustments in Update 7.0. Highlights include:
- Bolt Rifles receiving 5% base damage increases
 - New "Head Hunter" perks rewarding precision shooting
 - Armor restoration mechanics for strategic play
 - Completely reworked melee weapon perks

Bug Fixes and Quality Improvements
The update addresses numerous technical issues including weapon stat corrections, class ability fixes, and audio/visual polish. The developer has particularly focused on resolving incorrect perk stacking and stat calculations.
The public test server offers PC players an exclusive early look at these changes, though console players will need to wait for the official release. The development team welcomes community feedback to refine Update 7.0 before its full launch.
