Palworld Adds Fishing, Salvaging, Pal Trust Features

by Nova Sep 08,2025

The Palworld x Terraria crossover update has arrived, introducing fishing, salvaging systems, expanded settlements, trust mechanics between Pals and players, and more in one of the most substantial patches since the game's Early Access launch last year.

Version 0.6.0 brings a special Terraria collaboration with Re-Logic's acclaimed sandbox title. Players can explore a new dungeon featuring Terraria enemies where they gather materials to craft exclusive Terraria-themed equipment. The notorious Moon Lord from Terraria appears as a challenging raid boss.

Beyond the Terraria content, this major update delivers numerous gameplay enhancements. PlayStation 5 players gain dedicated servers, while all platforms receive fishing mechanics, salvage systems, three new biome islands, trust-based stat boosts for Pals, and expanded progression through a raised level cap (60→65). Comprehensive patch details follow:

Developer Pocketpair continues delivering significant Palworld updates amid its legal battle with Nintendo and The Pokémon Company regarding patent claims. Recent patches reportedly included modifications required by ongoing litigation, prompting community modders to develop alternative solutions.

Launched earlier this year at $30 on Steam alongside Game Pass availability, Palworld shattered sales and concurrent player records. Studio head Takuro Mizobe revealed Palworld's overwhelming success created substantial profit management challenges. Despite this, Pocketpair strategically expanded through a Sony partnership establishing Palworld Entertainment to extend the franchise, culminating in PlayStation 5 support.

Post-launch comparisons between Palworld creatures and Pokémon designs prompted Nintendo's patent lawsuit rather than copyright claims. The companies seek approximately $32,846 each plus damages and potential sales restrictions.

At March's Game Developers Conference, Pocketpair communications director John "Bucky" Buckley provided insights during his talk "Community Management Summit: A Palworld Roller Coaster: Surviving the Drop." He addressed accusations of AI-generated assets (later disproven) and model replication while expressing surprise at Nintendo's patent litigation.
