Playtest Time Limits Unveiled for Elden Ring Nightreign Network Test

Elden Ring Nightreign Network Test: Three-Hour Daily Limit

The upcoming Elden Ring Nightreign network test will impose a three-hour daily playtime restriction, running from February 14th to 17th. This limited access applies exclusively to Xbox Series X/S and PlayStation 5 players. Applications are currently open via the official FromSoftware website.

Following the phenomenal success of Elden Ring in 2022, the announcement of Nightreign generated significant excitement. While initially, FromSoftware indicated no plans for a sequel or further DLC beyond the Shadow of the Erdtree expansion, Nightreign's reveal at The Game Awards 2024 surprised and delighted fans.

Nightreign's network test serves as a crucial technical verification, focusing on large-scale online load testing. The test allows selected players to experience a portion of the game before its full release. This preliminary test will likely disappoint players hoping for extended playtime, but it's a necessary step in ensuring a smooth launch.

Unlike its predecessor, Nightreign prioritizes cooperative gameplay and incorporates roguelike elements, including procedurally generated encounters. While a release date remains unannounced, the network test strongly suggests further news is imminent. PC players are excluded from this initial test, but the game will be available on PC upon its official launch. The limited playtime is a key aspect of this pre-release testing phase.
