"Freedom Wars Remastered: All Weapon Types Detailed"

In *Freedom Wars Remastered*, players have the exciting freedom to equip two weapons of their choice before diving into an Operation. With six unique weapon types at your disposal, you can tailor your character to suit any play style you desire. Each weapon type offers distinct advantages and can be customized to enhance your gameplay further.

Every Weapon Type in Freedom Wars Remastered

In total, there are six weapon types available in *Freedom Wars Remastered*. You can acquire new weapons by successfully completing operations or by making purchases from the Zakka store in The Warren. While you can't directly choose the weapons for your Comrades, you have full control over your Accessory's equipment. Switching your weapons or your Accessory's weapons is seamless, with no penalties or benefits tied to frequent changes or sticking to the same set. Here's a detailed look at each weapon type and their unique traits:

Weapon TypeTraits
Light Melee - Quick attacks ideal for fast-paced playstyles and targeting single enemies.
- Can sever Abductor limbs without the need for a Flare Knife.
Heavy Melee - Wide arcing attacks that deliver significant damage.
- Well-placed attacks can strike multiple Abductor limbs, multiplying damage as if hitting them multiple times.
- Charged attacks can launch you into the air at the end of your combo.
- Slightly reduces your movement speed when equipped.
Polearm - Most attacks involve charging through enemies, helping you evade incoming attacks.
- Charged attacks allow you to throw your polearm for massive damage from a safe distance.
Assault Weapons - High total ammo capacity, making it perfect as a primary weapon for gun-focused builds.
- Can be fired while grappled with your Thorne, allowing for better angles or shooting from a safe distance.
Portable Artillery - High single-shot damage but with a low overall ammo capacity.
- Explosive AOE shots capable of hitting multiple limbs for increased damage.
- Reduces your movement speed when equipped.
Autocannons - High rate of fire with large ammo capacity and magazine size.
- Individual shots may not deal much damage, but the high rate of fire compensates for this.
- Reduces your movement speed when equipped.

It's worth noting that, unlike the player, your Accessory does not need to worry about ammo when using gun weapons, giving you an additional strategic advantage in combat.
