Infinity Nikki and its multiplayer-focused 1.5 update have launched on Steam, bringing both excitement and controversy along for the ride.
Infold Games' fashion adventure game arrived on Valve's platform yesterday after months of Epic Store exclusivity. What should have been a celebratory moment for fans has instead become overshadowed by technical glitches, confusing design tweaks, and expensive outfit collection requirements. While developers have issued apologies and promised compensation, player dissatisfaction continues to grow.

PC players eager to experience the Steam release encountered numerous technical problems ranging from game crashes to general instability. Beyond performance issues, players raised concerns about recent design changes - particularly regarding two new five-star outfits (Snowbound Ballad and Undying Ember) that require collecting 11 pieces each, potentially demanding up to 220 pulls per complete set.
Further controversy emerged when Infold abruptly extended the Crown of Miraland: Peak Arena event from two to three weeks without clear communication. This decision, combined with the growing monetization concerns, sparked outrage among Chinese players on RedNote that quickly spread globally. Many community members are now calling for Steam review bombs and platform-wide uninstalls.
"What I'm reminding people is that many Chinese IN stylists are pledging to boycott banner pulls to send a message," explained Reddit user kiaxxl in a call-to-action post. "For gacha games, early engagement metrics determine success. Holding off pulls temporarily shows we want fair gameplay."
The backlash has made an impact - Infinity Nikki currently holds a "Mixed" rating on Steam as players warn newcomers about the issues. The mounting pressure forced Infold to release an apology letter acknowledging the problems and promising fixes for major technical issues.
Apology Letter Regarding Version 1.5 Gaming Experience
Dear Stylists,
We sincerely apologize for the unstable launch experience... [We're] addressing issues and improving communication moving forward.— Infinity Nikki (@InfinityNikkiEN) April 29, 2025
The studio announced plans to revert the Mira Crown schedule (now ending May 16) and provide compensation including 10 Revelation Crystals, 10 Resonance Crystals, and 1200 Diamonds. While some view this as progress, others remain concerned about the unchanged 11-piece outfit requirements and future monetization plans.
I wish you'd adjust the drop rates... Needing 200 pulls for a 5-star when you release multiple banners weekly isn't sustainable or fun!

While the community has secured some concessions, many players urge continued pressure. "Accepting 11-piece outfits now means future 5-stars will likely follow this model," cautioned Reddit user EdensAsmr. "Saving 70-80 pulls per update won't be enough if every major release includes two such banners."
Infinity Nikki Update 1.5 is now available. Players can claim 100 free pulls and use new redemption codes for bonuses including Resonance Crystals and Diamonds. Those exploring the Sea of Stars area can track progress using our interactive map with completion checklists.
