Marvel Rivals Addresses Low FPS Damage Issue Affecting Certain Heroes

A bug in Marvel Rivals is causing reduced damage output for some heroes at lower FPS settings (30 FPS). This affects characters like Dr. Strange and Wolverine, impacting their attack effectiveness compared to higher FPS gameplay (60 or 120 FPS). The issue, confirmed by a community manager on the official Discord server, primarily impacts specific abilities such as Wolverine's Feral Leap and Savage Claw, particularly noticeable against stationary targets.

The development team is actively working on a solution. While the exact timeframe remains unclear, the upcoming Season 1 launch on January 11th is expected to include a fix or significant improvement. The problem appears linked to the game's client-side prediction mechanism, a common programming technique intended to minimize perceived lag.

Despite this ongoing issue, Marvel Rivals, released in early December 2025, has been well-received, boasting an 80% player approval rating on Steam based on over 132,000 reviews. While initial concerns regarding hero balance existed, the game's overall reception remains positive. If the Season 1 update doesn't completely resolve the 30 FPS damage bug, further updates are planned to address the remaining issues.
